Used Toothbrush: October 9, 2023

One of the best gifts I ever got,

a used toothbrush most would think not.

Phillips Sonicare,

top of the line.

I didn’t care if it didn’t start off,

as mine.

A change of the head,

quick mend,

my teeth,

I could now tend.

A gift from grandpa,

in use everyday,

my last had begun to fray-

not electric,

from the dentist,

kids toys on display.

I’m happy he sent it,

he’s worried about decay.

The usual twenty,

was always plenty.

I could never complain,

but this one came from the brain.

He knew it was funny,

mom thought it was crummy.

I was pleased,

this time no unease-

in opening gifts meant for another,

this time I felt like my brother.

Overjoyed,

at the thought,

that he could spot,

something from the lot-

the best gift,

I ever got.
