Steps in the Commission Process:

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do prints come signed?

Yes — every print is hand-signed by Abby and ships with a printed artist statement explaining the research, symbols, or questions behind the work.

What is the work actually about?

Abby works through data collection, observation, and analysis — investigating human behavior, natural systems, power, waste, and economic systems. Pattern and repetition are a through-line; medium is chosen as the catalyst for metaphor.

Why such a muted palette?

The restrained color is intentional. A muted palette lets symbolism, material, and structure carry the meaning; vibrancy wanes as pain subsides.

Do you offer custom framing?

Framing is not currently offered, but all prints are sized to standard frame dimensions. Michaels and IKEA frames are reliable, affordable options.

How do I care for a crochet piece?

Hand-wash in cold water with gentle soap. Lay flat to dry — never hang while wet. Fiber-specific care instructions are included with every order.

What is the commission timeline?

Most commissions complete in 4–8 weeks depending on scale and complexity. Crochet and textile pieces typically take 5–6 weeks. A specific timeline is confirmed during your consultation.

How do I care for an original painting or 1/1 ceramic?

Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and high humidity. Dust gently with a dry, soft cloth — no water or solvents. Reach out before attempting any cleaning on ceramic or mixed-media work. Food safety will be clarified for ceramic works.

How can I follow new work?

Interested in a commision?

Commissions begin with observation. Abby treats your space, story, and reference points as data — collected through conversation, then translated into a painting, ceramic, or crochet piece governed by the same muted palette and symbolic logic that runs through the rest of the practice.

Timelines run 4–8 weeks. Pricing is set individually based on scale, material, and complexity. Crochet commissions include sizing consultation and care instructions; every commission ships with a printed artist statement so the work arrives with its concept attached.
